Change from CITATION.md to CITATION.cff and use the proper data standard for .cff files. This will also enable the CITATION.cff-github integration and show the citation button in the web UI.

Additionally removed the AUTHORS file in the root of the repository. It is only mentioned (and linked to wrongly) in the paper.md file and contains duplicate information that already diverged from the content of the original CITATION.md. I added the additional authors from the AUTHORS file in the new CITATION.cff file.

Currently, the authors in CITATION.cff only have a given name and family name. It would be good to add an ORCID for everyone, perhaps this is something to ask in the slack channel/mailinglist and/or through other channels? I'm happy to put them all in if the authors post their ORCID as a comment to this PR.

Thanks for starting this Jaro. I noticed that we aren't linking properly to the citation file from the readme, so I've added a fix into this PR (rather than open a separate PR).

@JaroCamphuijsen since it looks like all maintainers have added their details, can you confirm that we can remove WIP?

I have looked through the changes, and they look fine to me. @anenadic was there any particular reason you requested review from @Devaraj-G or can we go ahead an merge?

@bielsnohr I added a few more details, two names that were in the deleted AUTHORS file but weren't yet present in the CITATION.cff file and the orcids of my former colleagues. I think this is ready to go now!

Is the family name missing or is it just Matthew?
Do not know which Mathew this refers to, either Matthew Bluteau or Matthew Graham per CITATION.cff or someone else.

@anenadic This list of authors also has some other strange names (supposedly Github usernames) in there. Was this intentional? Is this what paper.bib should contain?
