Hello Fonoster team 👋
First of all, thank you for your hard work on building an open-source programmable voice platform — it’s a much-needed initiative outside of closed ecosystems like Twilio or Vonage.
I'm currently exploring the latest version (v0.14.4) of Fonoster and trying to connect it to SIP trunk providers located in Turkey. However, it seems that SIP registration (for outbound connections to third-party trunks) is not yet supported or implemented. I've carefully analyzed the current architecture and appreciate the design choices made to keep things modular and modern.
Still, in countries like mine, direct SIP trunk registration is essential for adoption, especially for local businesses that want to connect to national telecom providers. My goal is to promote the use of Fonoster in Turkey by creating video content, demos, and educational resources in Turkish — making it easier for developers and small businesses to get started.
If there's any guidance, workaround, or roadmap you could share about enabling SIP trunk registration to external PBXs or providers, I would be truly grateful 🙏
In return, I’m happy to give back to the community by publishing example applications and use cases once I get things working. I really believe Fonoster can play an important role in democratizing voice tech globally, and I’d love to help that vision grow locally.
Warm regards,
Ramazan from Türkiye 🇹🇷
