Extra space used in gutters on all open files #8329

Description

@aguynamedben

I believe this is a regression in the few days, I didn't notice this yesterday or the day before. I don't see an update in the extension listing page's changelog describing this. It would be helpful if you put dates in the changelog.

  • Extension version: 0.120.2
  • VSCode Version: Cursor 2.3.18
  • OS: macOS

With the "GitHub Pull Requests" extension enabled, it's adding a pretty wide extra gutter to the left of the contents of each file.

I work with 3-wide vertical splits, so this extra horizontal wasted space is unacceptable. This happens on all open files while the extension is open. It appears to be to facilitate the GitHub comments feature, however I'm on a long-lived feature branch. I guess there is a PR open for the feature branch -> master, but I'm not looking to review right now.
