There seems to be more similarities with an earlier version of picoboot than can be explained by coincidence.

Sorry for my late answer - I didn't get a notification.
miniBoot is a 'special edition' of ASMboot which is a rewrite of Optiboot as I mentioned here and there.
As time goes by I'm not sure, but would say that I missed picoboot and didn't had a look at it (maybe until now - I just can't remember).
I was thinking I would do something new. That for sure turned out to be wrong.
But when I'm not sure you could be right. That's why: I beg your pardon.
What kind af credit shall I place?
