Things that have been discussed but not noted anywhere:

• Rendering is broken in encrypted rooms.
• We need to show that it's not an actual user—leading idea was having the @example:example.com that shows when hovering simply be always shown for pmp messages, since that'd be the least intrusive.

Also, probably a good idea to allow setting message prefixes for profiles to quickly switch between them, like plural kit.
If the profile switcher/creator system requires any UI elements, they should be hidden by default unless a toggle is enabled somewhere in settings, since most people don't use them and will likely get confused.

my wip currently uses commands like /usepmp xyz 🤔
and stores the profiles in account state

the way to add a pmp is a bit wanky tho...

Do any other clients support this right now? We should see how they setup the profiles (i.e. if it's a UI or command, etc).

I think a UI would be good. Especially for setting up profiles.
But I think we should make one step after another 😅

Only client I know of is Joop's fork Wally. Has a little profile icon in the message bar where everything is controlled.

How do they save it?
Do they save it in account state?

Asking bc it might be smart to make it compatible. my wip is using my prefix (fyi.cisnt....) for testing.

I think they don’t save it, only local storage. I know they support the pluralkit json formatting though. We should save it to account data under some key, probably moe.sable.app.whatever
