Hello @LucaLazar07 welcome. Please have a look at the blog post for first steps. A common thing to do is to go through the Quickstart Tutorial in the user guide to get a sense of what MDAnalysis does — this is important if you haven't used MDA before. |

Hello,
My name is Lazar Luca, and I am a Computer Science student eager to contribute to MDAnalysis for GSoC 2026. I have a background in Python development and a strong interest in practical Machine Learning applications.
What I bring to the project:
ML Foundations: I have a firm grasp of Python and have experimented with Scikit-learn and TensorFlow to build and evaluate models.
Technical Environment: I am comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments and use Git for version control to maintain clean, collaborative code.
Data Focus: I enjoy the process of transforming raw data into actionable insights. You can see my disciplined approach to the ML pipeline in my independent projects on GitHub: github.com/LucaLazar07.
My Commitment:
I am a proactive learner and am ready to dive into new technologies required by your project. For the duration of the program, I can commit 32 hours per week to ensure the project's success.
I would appreciate any guidance on how I can best align my current skills with the needs of MDAnalysis and what steps I should take to begin contributing to your community.
Best regards,
Lazar Luca
