What

Clarify organization type filters and fix non-functional filter options that produce no results.

Why

Users are confused by organization filters that don't work and unclear categorization that doesn't match data.gov's purpose.

• Organization Type filter purpose clearly explained
• University/Non-profit filters either work or are removed
• Filter values align with available data
• Organization categorization matches metadata content vs harvest source appropriately

Notes - Original Feedback:

• "What is expected by the Organization Type search filter on the right hand side? How are these values determined. I am assuming it is from harvest source vs. metadata content. Not clear on the intended purpose for University, Non-profit etc search etc that produce no results. Will they ever? The classic site defines organizations: 'Users can view datasets by the federal agency, state, city or county that publishes them, referred to as "organizations" in the Data.gov catalog.' Universities are sometimes listed as the producers of the dataset when the grant funding agency makes their data available but do we anticipate that they will self register data given the overall purpose of data.gov to be the home of U.S. Government Data."
