Non-object images

Hello! I'm using CollectionBuilder Github and would like to display pdfs on my homepage that are not objects in my collection. Is this possible? Thank you.

@chase-hastin sorry, looks like we missed your post over the holiday break.
Yes, you can display a PDF not in the collection. You can use feature includes on any page. To embed a PDF you would use the pdf.html include. Check the comments at the top to see how to use it. But basically, for the "objectid" option value you would put the URL to your pdf or a relative link if the pdf is in the project. For example, it might look like:

{% include feature/pdf.html objectid="https://collectionbuilder.github.io/collectionbuilder-gh/objects/test010.pdf" caption="Example PDF" %}

To put it on the default homepage, you would edit the "_layout/home-infographic.html" in your project, adding an include like the example above.

Keep in mind, an embedded PDF often isn't the best user experience--users have load the full file to load the page and many mobile browsers don't support it correctly. Another option would be to use the "image.html" include instead, using a thumbnail for the pdf with a link to the pdf download. For example, might look like:

{% include feature/image.html objectid="https://collectionbuilder.github.io/collectionbuilder-gh/objects/test011.jpg" alt="Cover of book" link="https://collectionbuilder.github.io/collectionbuilder-gh/objects/test010.pdf" caption="Download this great PDF" %}
